"Good to see you, Grassi," Archy said in a friendly, if somewhat flat tone. In the old days he would have shaken the man's hand, but that was too dangerous, even with someone you know very well.
"I wish to inquire about those smallest of Cucumbers," he said dully, the statement held no amusement to him, but what was he to do? It's not like he could report Mr Concorigan. Besides, the slight humiliation brought on by saying such a peculiar statement was nothing compared to the benefits of what lay beyond them.

Grassi smiled a hearing that statement, it usually meant profit and generator-fuel for him, so he was glad to hear it, and the strange phrase was chosen because it applied, he did sell zucchini, but it was specific enough so no-one who wasn't interested (and trusted to see) in his other produce would utter it "Ahh, most excellent" he said, stepping back and showing them both inside, once he'd closed and locked the door, he went to a large door nearby, thick and securely locked, he rifled thought his keys until he found the relevant one, he was fortunate that the impound lot he inhabited could serve him so perfectly, the farm was protected by walls and razor wire, and he had ample room for his weapons and his workshop underground, in a very secure car park intended for holding vehicles that were very likely to be stolen, such as immensely expensive vehicles, cars belonging to gangs who would want them back as a matter of show, or even vehicles that were evidence in some kind of court case, of course, those days were long gone, and now, as they descended a concrete stairwell a few meters down underground, he became Abdul Razak once again, still infinitely courteous and friendly, but endlessly more dangerous than his alias (which was, interestingly, such a bad fake name that no-one would suspect it of being fake at all).
He gestured for the two to sit on a tattered old sofa as he himself stood before them, as was always custom "What can I be doing for you today then?" since the girl was with Archy, Abdul simply assumed her to be alright, otherwise the man would never have been fool enough to cross the Saudi by so openly saying the secret phrase before her, without first telling him.

Following the tradition Archy sat on the sofa, keeping an eye on Kenya as he did. He knew she wouldn't go telling anyone the phrase, but he wanted her on a short leash for some time nonetheless. No, he wasn't planning on enslaving her, but he liked to know his acquaintances well before they became allies. Since she was so young, Archy assumed Kenya would follow him willingly, it wasn't everyday one had the chance to make a friend in this world.
"I seem to recall you saying something about a crossbow. We were going to go on a little hunt and I am considering purchasing one," Archy said. It was an unusual request. Who wanted a weapon so ancient and difficult to use when guns were so much cheaper and more powerful? He decided to explain himself to Grassi, primarily because it wasn't smart to leave your allies in the dark when you don't have to, "My father and I used to bow hunt. You could say it's something of a sentimental issue. Though I would like to see the face of the next fucker who messes with me when he finds a bolt through his chest..."
Arcturus couldn't help but grin at the thought.

Archy's statement at the Mr. Concorigan fellow struck Kenya as funny. They needed to stop for food before they got they're food? Well, she heard that, before the end of the world, a meal usually had quite a bit to it. Of course it didn't take her long to realize that the statement had a rather different meaning as the were led underground. She just kept quiet, taking a seat next to Archy and ignoring the fact that he seemed to glance at her a couple times. There could have been several reasons for that which she didn't really want to dwell on at the moment.
Why a crossbow? Kenya knew that there were much better and effective weapons for hunting. She let out a small snort of a laugh when she imagined the scene of what the idiot would look like after messing with someone with a crossbow in these days.
"That would be fun..." she mumbled.

Abdul shrugged passively as he mentioned the crossbow "I fear it is unfinished" he stated plainly "I'm uninterested in making any old crossbow, you must understand, this weapon must compete with the modern, and be able to fire any shaft of metal you may find" he shifted a bit "I can, however, build another as it is now, but it is, as I said, incomplete, it does not have the tension to pierce a brick wall, as I had intended" truly, it seemed the weapons expert had something extra-ordinary in mind "also, you can only hold the bow cocked for about ten seconds or it shall pull itself apart" he looked to Archy and his charge "so, what is your decision? I can replicate the prototype this evening".

Archy raised his eyebrows at the man's statement. "Shoot through walls? I'm impressed indeed. Stronger than a projectile pistol and nearly as powerful as a laser. When you finish this you must tell me, friend." He had forgotten about the regular crossbow. It simply wasn't interesting after the thought of the complete product had entered Archy's mind. When something came to mind, he went with it. "What can I do to help you complete this weapon?"

"Excuse me, but why would you need said weapon?" Kenya leaned forward, expecting the stupidest faces from both of the men. Her hair covered her left eye as she waited for some sort of reply from either of them. She had only been a wanderer in the post-apocalyptic world... Defense or offense came from that rusty piece of metal still sitting there on the side of the street. She slowly leaned back, looking Archy to Abdul and back, half expecting one of them to mention the Post Creatures.
