In the year 2981: Earth seemed to be finalizing her death sentence since industry began. The world governments joined into two enemy empires, over controllers and "peace makers". The U.N. was completely destroyed. World War IV finally broke out. In just ten years, over five billion people were gone.
In the year 2991: It all ended. The surviving population was mostly under the age of 16. Only a hundred or so adults were left in the world as far as I knew. One of them, Seve, took me in when he was twenty, during the first year of the war. From 2991 on, we had to restore Earth. Bring back the old ways of life. It would be hard; all everyone knew was death and war anymore. That is why I was so grateful for Seve. Being born in 2960, Seve knew the good side to life. Stories he told me from his childhood were amazing. The only thing that was worried about was being late for work or something happening to the space station that was on it's way to Mars.
3005:
A loud repeated ringing noise shot through the hallways of the ancient high school. It burst everyone awake with alarm and confusion. I looked around the old science lab to see Seve sitting on a counter smiling. The room was lit up by a few squares on the ceiling. "Remember those stories about the light bulbs" Seve asked me. I nodded, growing even more confused.
"That's what those are."
"But, You said they won't ever work. Electricity has been out since 2-983..." I said.
"I was wrong. That means electricity is back up! Lets go see what else works!" He jumped off the counter and bounced to the door, I followed him.
Out in the hallway, I noticed a few others happy to see the light bulbs working. Another older man came running to us. "They've fixed the power station at the seaside! It's range is from there to Orting. Some kids have been sent out to the rest of the stations."
"Around the world?" Seve asked.
"Yes" The man replied. "We guess it'll take about four year to get everything back up."
Seve smiled "This is good. This is good." I walked to a window and looked out. It was morning. Around nine or ten I guessed as the ringing finally stopped. I rubbed my ears- They were starting to go numb from all that constant noise. I noticed the some of the old beat up cars out there. All I knew about them were some more stories that Seve told me. I wondered what it felt like to be in one of those things when they moved. Pretty neat, I guessed. They looked even more beat up this morning. Like someone had gone through them searching for something.
